How To Open Google Cloud Account

Use the Google Cloud Platform Console to open a new Google Cloud Account or billing account and configure your project billing settings. The following subject explains how to open your billing account and verify your e-mail address.

Note: To manage billing accounts and to add projects to them, you must be a billing administrator. (By default, account owners are billing administrators.) For information about billing administrators and billing permissions, see Overview of Access Control.

For information about Google application program interface pricing, refer to the documentation for the application program interface you're using. For information about Google Cloud Platform Console pricing and the Google Cloud Platform Console free trial, see Pricing.

Open a new billing account

First Step>> Go to the Google Cloud Platform Console and sign in or, if you do not already have an account, sign up.

Second Step>> Open the console left side menu and select Billing.

Third Step>> Click the New billing account button. (Note that if this is not your first billing account, first you need to open the billing account list by clicking the name of your existing billing account near the top of the page, and then clicking Manage billing accounts.)

Fourth Step>> Type the name of the billing account and type your billing information. The options you see depend on the country of your billing address. Note that for United States accounts, you cannot change tax status after the account is created.

Fifth Step>> Click Submit and enable billing.

By default, the person who creates the billing account is a billing administrator for the account.

Note: After setting up your Google cloud account, you might notice a $0.00 transaction from Google which is a pending authorization request between our billing system and the bank that issued your credit or debit card. In some countries, authorizations are $1.

These transactions might appear as pending on your statement for up to a month. Please keep in mind they are authorization requests only, not actual charges. If you have questions, we recommend you contact your bank about the authorization status.

For information about verifying bank accounts, see Verify Your Bank Account. For information about adding backup methods of payment, see Add, remove, or update a payment method.

Note: If you have not already verified your e-mail address, you might need to do so before you can begin using the new billing account.

Verify your e-mail address

To ensure you receive billing related notifications, we might ask you to verify your e-mail address.

To verify your e-mail address, look for a verification e-mail in the Inbox for the e-mail address you used as your billing account Primary contact, and then click the verification link in the e-mail to activate your billing account.

If you have not received the verification e-mail, here's how to request a new verification link:

First Step>> Go to the Google Cloud Platform Console.

Second Step>> Open the console left side menu and select Billing.

Third Step>> If you have more than one billing account, select Go to linked billing account to manage the current project's billing. To locate a different billing account, select Manage billing accounts.

Fourth Step>> On the left, click Payment settings.
Under Payments contacts, find the e-mail address you want to verify and click Resend verification e-mail. Note that if the e-mail address has already been verified, this link is not available.

Fifth Step>> Until an e-mail address is verified, you will see the error "Your primary billing contact is not receiving critical notifications" in Billing.

Change the billing address

To change the billing address, do the following.

First Step>> Go to the Google Cloud Platform Console.

Second Step>> Open the Google cloud platform console left side menu and select Billing.

Third Step>> If you have more than one billing account, select Go to linked billing account to manage the current project's billing. To locate a different billing account, select Manage billing accounts.

Fourth Step>> On the left side, click Payment settings.

Fifth Step>> Under Payments profile, click the edit next to your name and address to open it for edit.

Sixth Step>> Type the new billing address information and click Save.
