WhatsApp Messenger has confirmed that up to eight users can now participate in group video calls instead of four. This change was seen on the recently released Android and iPhone WhatsApp beta versions and now WhatsApp has officially announced this feature and has also informed that the increased group call user limit is available to all users.

In a post on Facebook, social media giant CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the upcoming changes to the WhatsApp group call. On his Facebook post, Zuckerberg wrote that (translated) "more than 700 million people use WhatsApp and Messenger to make calls. Calling has doubled since the Covid-19 outbreak began in many countries."
The next stable version update of WhatsApp will bring this new change and users who download it will be able to do group calling with eight people instead of four.

In his Facebook post, Zuckerberg also announced several new features from other Facebook products along with highlighting the Messenger Room. A virtual room is also being added to Facebook Messenger, which allows chat app users to interact with more than 50 people at the same time.
